The spaceship alien illustration for this 5″ x 7″ birthday invitation was inspired by one I saw in the book 1,000 Greetings (by Peter King & Company, Rockport Publishers, Inc.), one of my favorite sources for greeting card and invitation ideas (more of the graphic design type, not the handmade variety). The main white portion was designed in Illustrator, printed on my trusty Epson inkjet, cut out with an X-Acto knife (I include crop marks on my printouts), and then mounted on Gable Green cardstock from Stampin’ Up.
